In Memory of Dave Capodice January 13th 1949 – July 19th 2010

Founder Dave Capodice started Dave Capodice Excavating in 1965 with just one industrial loader tractor & one loader backhoe tractor. At that time Dave Capodice was still in high school & performed excavating work for surrounding neighbors & various customers in the Bloomington-Normal area. Within 2 weeks of graduating from high school in 1967 Dave attended a heavy equipment school in North Carolina. This provided him with formal training on the use of heavy equipment in the excavating business. Upon his return to Bloomington, he attended ISU & obtained a degree in Business Administration while working full time in the excavating business during the summer months. By 1974 the excavating company had become a full time operation with the help of Jan (Dave’s wife) & one other employee. Dave Capodice strived on building his businesses good reputation & has provided quality excavating work to the Bloomington-Normal area for almost 40 years.
Today Dave Capodice Excavating still remains a small family owned excavating company, operated by Dave & Jan Capodice’s 3 children. Mike Capodice, Matt Capodice & Jenny Capodice. Each grew up living & breathing the excavating business. They take much pride in following in their father’s footsteps & intend on making him proud.
